The United States is experiencing computer breaches in the last few years. Even entire States, such as South Carolina, have been invaded by computer hackers from overseas. Places like public universities have been the target of hacking in recent days. An example on that was Salem State University in Salem, Massachusetts where hackers got into its computer files from outside the university.

The Catholic Faith: Mary the Mother of God

We, as Catholics, believe that the Virgin Mary who was and still is the Mother of Jesus, is the Mother of God. We do not worship Mary as we worship the only God, the Father of Abraham and Isaac. We pray to Mary to interceed in our behalf the allmighty God. God is Holy. Mary was free from the original sin. She was the new Eve. Mary is the one that stepped on the snake's head, the satan, and crushed its head under her feet. She did that by obeying the Lord God and accepting her role to be the Mother of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. Catholics do not worship Mary. We adore her. There is a huge difference between the two. Notice how the Good Lord would not force anyone to do anything against his/her own free will. The Lord God sent his archangel Gabriel to ask Mary's permission to be part of God's salvation plan. There is a great mystery in this act that is on its own is a miracle. Mary Mother of God, Pray for Us We Sinners. Amen.

Django Unchained: The Movie

I went last Sunday to see Django Unchained, the movie. I must say it kept me engaged the whole three hours. It describes a small segment of the American history. The story happened two years before the Civil War. Black people were treated badly those days by some of the white people. In this story a black man and a white man were my heroes. The "bad guys" were also a mixed bag of races. The movie made me angry, disgusted, happy, tearful, suspecious, mad, and delighted, all at the same time. I would not take children under 18 to this movie. It is really meant for adults. In my opinion it should have been rated X. It has too much blood and "uneasy" nauseating scenes, even too much for a grown adult to tolerate. Although it has a happy ending, it does keep you at the edge of your seat the entire time. Django Unchained is indeed a great movie. In my book, it is on same level as that of "To Kill a Mocking Bird". This movie will be valuable for eternity. I give it a 7 Stars on a scale of 5. And remember, it is for adults viewing only.

Francis 1st will be installed as a Pope this Tuesday

Tuesday, March 19, 2013 is scheduled by the Vatican to install the new Pope. Francis 1st will be the 266th pontiff of the Catholic Church. The first Bishop of Rome was Saint Peter, Jesus' disciple. Saint Peter's tomb is present at the Vatican. Francis 1st is a Jesuit. According to Saint Malachi's prophecy, this would be the last Pope. In his vision, Saint Malachi was given the knowledge of 112 popes that would follow his time (900 years ago). Signs from the Middle East and Korea suggest he might be correct. However, if the good Lord truly was the one who gave Saint Malachi his vision, this does not mean He told him everything. The end of Saint Malachi's vision has devestations in it. It described the end of time. In this vision, he suggested that this last Pope is called "Petrus Romanus". Actually, this new Pope is from an Italian family from Argentina. That takes care of the "Romanus" part of it. As for "Petrus", this is taken care of by the "de Pedro" in Saint Francis' name. Was Saint Malachi correct? I hope he was not. However, he has been correct on all the other 111 Popes!

To me Saint Patrick's Day reminds me with Boston, Massachusetts. This day is one of the most festive in this city. Happy Saint Patrick's Day. It brings back so much of good memories.

Why all the Catholic haters were so wrong?

All Catholic haters were so wrong about the new Pope. Catholic haters equate the Catholic Church with Satan. They believe that the anti-Christ will emerge from this Church and most likely he would be the Pope himself. They found an old book talking about some prophecy that a Saint Malachi had predicted that this new Pope would be the last Pope and he would be named Petrus Romanus. They even suggested that this Petrus Romanus would be Pope John Paul II reincarnated. They found some mysterious wording in the Book of Revelation to support their claim. To their surprise, the Cardinals today elected a Pope from Argentina and he went with the name Francis 1st. All those haters on Youtube can now calm down for at least another 8 years. And, by the way this Pope was elected by the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Meanwhile, rumors are brewing that the anti-Christ shall rise from one of those Catholic haters on Youtube.

The Catholic Church elected today a new Pope who he chose the name of Francis 1st. The new Pope is Italian by birth, but he was the Cardinal from Argentina. I wonder what happened to "Peter Romanus"?

The American style healthcare system in its basic care is a dismal failure. The basic 8-minute visit to a healthcare provider is based on getting the patient in and getting him out as quickly as possible. Give him a prescription drug for every ill he has, ignore the possible potential side effects of these drugs, tell him to exercise and eat right (like anyone needs to pay money for these type of useless advices) and tell him to come back in a few months for more lab tests. What is missing in the American healthcare is the word "care". Physicians have become drug pushers for the all powerful pharmaceutical industry and their functions have become robotic. I would rather see a robot than a physician. They are just worthless.

Visit to Your Doctor...The Annual Physical...What to expect

The medical professional strongly advice people to have an annual physical exam. This exam includes routine laboratory tests and normally a very brief inspection of major organ systems...about 3-5 minutes in total. Most physicians now wear protective gloves while examining their patients. The annual physical is mainly lab tests. About 95% is labs and 5% actual inspection. The art of physical exam is not there anymore, and the majority of physicians are either incompetent or do not have the desire or the time to waste on it. So they rely heavily on lab tests in their diagnosis. If I walk today to a clinic with one of my ears missing and blood flowing out from that location, the diagnosis will be based on lab tests and not on actually observing the missing ear. Even the lower paid providers, such as the physician assistants and the nurse practitioners, are acting like their boses when it comes to actual physical diagnosis. Even though they are paid less per hour than their supervisors, the physicians, they are mimicking exactly what their boses do. Unfortunately, a brief and superfacial physical exam results in missing valuable information on the patient's health. This may be the only occasion that a cancerous mole on the back of the patient can be detected before it spreads and metastastizes to the rest of the body. No routine lab exam can detect these lesions. Moreover, practitioners must not ask their patients if they are comfortable in examining a certain area in their body. Afterall, this is why the patient is there to start with, and this may put the patient in a difficult situation forcing him/her to say no thinking that the practitioner may be not comfortable with it either, otherwise why did the practitioner ask? Health is an important aspect of everybody's life, and this is one of the area that everybody should be taught the basic medical information to protect everyone's health since the medical practitioners are no longer willing to take that responsibility. Basic medical information should be taught in colleges to all students regardless of their majors. These courses should be also taught in high school curriculum. Health care Providers have given up their right to be the sole holders of this information. In addition, prescription drugs should be available without prescriptions to everybody who desired them, with the exception of controlled substances. It is time that the majority of drugs were available as over-the-counter for everybody to purchase them. What drove this trend of relying on lab tests to treat patients is the fact physicians are being paid by health insurance that pay them on per patient basis. The less the time the physician spend with the patients the more the time available to see more patients and thus more money. I propose that the national health system to develop a reporting mechanism by which patients can report the service they receive from a medical clinic, and those clinics that are not performing the service to be excluded from payments. I also propose that colleges develop courses in basic medical information available to everyone. Information on complementary and alternative medicine should be available to everyone who wants to learn it. Health is a right and not a privilege, and the medical establishment must respect these rights.

Buddy...A Dog

Buddy was my mother-in-law's dog. He passed away today. My wife had to go and help her mother in putting the dog to sleep. He seemingly sufferered from a stroke today and could not move anymore. My wife called a mobile veterinarians to get them to help her put Buddy to sleep. It was a sad day. Buddy was a gentle dog. He came from Monroe, Michigan. My brother-in-law found him one day wondering in his backyard during winter, all covered with snow and mud. He took him in, cleaned him, fed him, and gave him to "mom". Well "mom" moved to North Carolina with Buddy and he has been her best companion. You see, Buddy was not the sharpest tool in the shed, but he was a good sweet dog. We miss you Buddy. He used to love staying in the backyard all year round. We learned later that Buddy was abused by the previous owner before my brother-in-law found him. Buddy was a husky dog. He was docile and loving. I know that Buddy is in doggy's heaven and we shall meet again.

NASA News on Curiosity

NASA has announced the news that one of the two curiosity rover is down. Computer A had a glitch and NASA switched the operation to Computer B. However, they have not yet allowed Computer B to operate fully. They are also trying to get Computer A back to work. I wonder what Martian messed up with Computer A?

How many popes has the Catholic Church placed on throne?

The official number of Popes is 266. There are also some unofficial names that history recorded their existence. The next Pope will be number 267. However, he will be number 112 since Saint Malachi wrote his vision on the popes that would come since then. According to Saint Malachi, number 112 (or 267) would be the last one before everything crumbles. I hope the Cardinals take their time in electing this one. After all who needs a Pope. Don't elect one and save the planet.

Curiosity Rover is Silent

Mars discovery rover, Curiosity, has been silent since February 27, 2013. The last transmission of images came on that day at 11:48:52 UTC. NASA has also been silent on this subject. What happenned to Curiosity? God only knows, and perhaps the Martians!

Has curiosity rover ceased working?

Curiosity Rover rolling on the surface of Mars has not sent any new data for several days now. And NASA has been silent about it. I wonder if it got damaged by something or someone?
